It is worth recalling that since 2014, the Bolesławiec Municipal Commune has been implementing the “I Can Swim” programme. Last year, 524 third-grade pupils took part in the project. At that time, the City secured PLN 78,600 from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship through the Lower Silesian Sports Federation (the programme operator).
This year, the organiser expanded the age range of children eligible to participate in the programme. Second-grade pupils were included in its implementation.
In spring 2015, 195 children participated in the project. In September, a group of 180 children began swimming lessons. The lessons for this group will continue until the end of November. Bolesławiec Water Park “Orka”, where the “I Can Swim” programme is being implemented, also received swimming-learning equipment and gifts for the children participating in the project from the organisers.
