The competition was attended by volunteer firefighters from five OSP units. Two events were held. The first was a 7×50 m firefighting relay race—on each of the seven sections, participants had to perform a specific firefighting-related task. The second event was the so-called combat exercise. At the judge’s signal, the team representing an OSP unit had to set up, as quickly as possible, a typical water line from a water tank to two extinguishing stations. This line is practically the length of an entire football pitch. Using a motor pump, the firefighters had to push water through to the ends of two hose lines, where teams directed streams of water at a rotating target to make it turn and at posts to knock them down. Ultimately, the times from the two events are added together, along with any penalty points, and the team with the shortest combined time wins.
The judging committee, consisting of officers from the Bolesławiec command, was appointed by the deputy district commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, junior brigadier Piotr Pilarczyk.
