Our athlete cleared every height up to 180 cm on his first attempt, demonstrating tremendous determination and mental resilience. The medal won by Paweł Wiśniewski's athlete is particularly valuable, as it was earned in truly autumnal weather and rain. What is more, Przemysław Mienculewicz cleared each successive height by 5 cm.
– I did not expect such a success. I was not among the favorites. As the only jumper from the leading group, I made eight jumps in the competition, which was tiring, especially since it was very cold and rainy. However, I did not want to take risks, because anything can happen in such weather. Today, though, my jumps were successful, and the unfavorable weather conditions additionally motivated me to fight – Przemek said after the competition.
Dawid Borysewicz finished sixth in the hammer throw (45.56 m). Our spirited and exceptionally likable athlete Marcelina Drozdek won tenth place in the 3000 m race walk (17:28.93 s). Kamil Kawka took the same place in the 600 m race (1:29.06 s). Gracjan Kozak finished the competition in eleventh place in the shot put (12.88 m), while Jakub Karaban came fourteenth in the pole vault (2.30 m). Aleksandra Niezgoda competed in the 100 m race (13.70 s), while Magdalena Przystarz competed in the 300 m race (44.98s ). Unfortunately, Marcel Michnowski did not finish the 5000 m race walk and was removed from the course for technical errors.
The people of Bolesławiec will now compete in combined-events competitions in Zielona Góra, followed by a period of recovery and rest before preparations for the next season begin.
