During the festival, the starost of Jelenia Góra County, Anna Konieczyńska, and the Chair of the County Council, Jerzy Pokój, handed over a dog for service with the Jelenia Góra police. It was purchased with funds from Jelenia Góra County.

The dog’s name is Cairo and he is 15 months old. He entered service on September 15 this year. His handler, Senior Warrant Officer Andrzej Morawski, will train him in individual training, which will last 4.5 months. Once a month, training progress will be assessed by instructors from the Police Canine Training Centre in Sułkowice. The dog will be used for patrol duties, particularly during various types of events.

Senior Warrant Officer Andrzej Morawski was an instructor at the Border Guard Dog Training Centre in Lubań for five years, and during his service with the Jelenia Góra police he has already trained one dog for patrol duty.

The Jelenia Góra police were represented at the festival by Sergeant Beata Sosulska-Baran and the community police officer from the Police Station in Kowary, Warrant Officer Robert Pietruszka.

The meeting with festival participants was prepared as part of programmes implemented by the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.
