Last Saturday, 19 September, precisely at 2:00 p.m., the “Ordinary-Extraordinary Bicycle Ride through the City” began in the Lubin meadows.
The event is held regularly as part of the celebrations of European Car-Free Day. The cyclists’ ride took place on Lubin’s public roads, with cross traffic stopped for the duration of the procession.
As every year, the City Hall event was supported by the Lubin police, who ensured safety and order during the event by setting up traffic-control and roadblock posts and escorting the participants.
To properly secure the route, 12 officers from the Lubin police headquarters and 7 municipal guard officers took part in the operation.
After travelling several kilometres along Lubin’s main streets, the cyclists returned to the starting point, where they could take part in a draw for valuable prizes.
