eTwinning achieved a success that no one had even dreamed of. After 10 years, eTwinning had become the largest community of schools in Europe, comprising more than 300,000 registered teachers and 130,000 registered schools. On 11 September 2015, a ceremony marking eTwinning’s 10th anniversary was held in the hall of the National Audiovisual Institute in Warsaw.
The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Administration and Digitisation. During the conference, the schools, institutions and individuals who had contributed most to the programme’s development were honoured.
Through international cooperation במסגרת eTwinning, the honoured schools implemented innovative teaching methods, thereby serving as examples for other institutions. The directors of the schools that received the title Top School of the Decade in Poland were presented with the distinction by Minister Ewa Dudek and FRSE Director Mirosław Marczewski:
- Public Kindergarten No. 5 in Głogów – Ewa Kurzak
- Kindergarten No. 48 with Integration Classes in Zabrze – Jolanta Kosczielny
- Primary School No. 4 named after Władysław Broniewski in Zambrów – Ryszard Świderski
- Public Primary School No. 1 named after Emilia Plater in Bogatynia – Bożena Wojciechowska

- Nicolaus Copernicus General Secondary School in Tarnobrzeg – Tomasz Stróż.
It is worth emphasising that four schools from Lower Silesia, including two from Zgorzelec County, were among the best in Poland.
eTwinning would not have performed so well without its ambassadors. The enormous amount of work they put into promoting the programme, encouraging teachers to participate and providing training, as well as the technical and substantive assistance they offered, constitute one of eTwinning’s pillars.
