He added: “I would like to remind you that this is already the second planting of crocuses, following last year’s planting. In autumn 2013, we planted approximately 80,000 of them, and they made a very impressive appearance in spring 2014. They survived the season quite well, so the autumn campaign will involve thickening those plantings and supplementing them. Spring 2016 should be considerably more colorful than the last one.
In two stages, in April and July, plants previously absent from Jelenia Góra in such quantities appeared on roadside lawns: lavender shrubs. More than 5,000 of these flowers were planted in total, and almost all of them endured the August heat excellently—heat that even marigolds, considered exceptionally hardy flowers, could not withstand.
The marigolds that suffered in August are now recovering, and all the plantings together already look at least satisfactory, despite the exceptionally difficult summer.
