On September 11, after 8 p.m., a concerned driver called the Lubin police duty officer. According to his account, a Renault was heading towards Ścinawa, driving across the entire width of the road. The man kept a safe distance to avoid colliding with it.

The information was immediately passed on to officers from the Police Station in Ścinawa. Driving behind the road hog, as soon as he spotted a police car, he flashed his lights to indicate that the driver ahead of him was the one who should be checked.

The alert driver's suspicions proved correct. The 57-year-old resident of Ścinawa Municipality had nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. He faces up to 2 years in prison.
