The Investigation Department of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra is supervising an investigation conducted by the Department for Combating Organized Drug Crime of the Wrocław Board of the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police (CBŚP) against three residents of the Legnica district: 36-year-old Wojciech S., 35-year-old Paweł D. and 25-year-old Filip K., who have been charged with growing cannabis plants other than fibrous hemp and producing narcotic substances in the form of dried cannabis.
An illegal plantation of cannabis plants other than fibrous hemp was discovered by CBŚP officers on September 8 this year in a detached house located in one of the towns near Bolesławiec.
During the search, police officers discovered plants approximately 1 metre tall in pots, as well as seedlings. In other rooms, they found dried cannabis and cut plants that were being dried.
In the searched building, CBŚP officers secured 405 cannabis plants other than fibrous hemp and more than 2.5 kg of dried cannabis.
In addition, they discovered professional equipment necessary for growing plants indoors and devices for drying them, as well as an illegal electricity connection. Therefore, employees of the power company were called to the scene.
That day, CBŚP officers arrested three residents of the Legnica district—Wojciech S., Paweł D. and Filip K.—who were staying in the rooms where the illegal marijuana plantation had been organized.
When questioned as suspects, the men did not admit to committing the crimes with which they had been charged.
At the prosecutor’s request, the District Court in Jelenia Góra ordered them to be held in pre-trial detention for three months.
All three face up to 15 years in prison.
