“Lessons with ZUS” is a series of four classes on social insurance, attended by upper-secondary school students. The “Lessons” are conducted by teachers at schools, using materials already prepared by ZUS. The aim of the project is to educate the younger generation about social insurance, show how insurance affects our lives and explain why some types of insurance are compulsory.

During the “Lessons”, students discover the history of insurance, learn what connection exists between specific insurance and a particular benefit, and explore issues concerning company registration and entrepreneurs’ obligations.

Schools can register for the educational project by 30 September 2015:

After completing the “Lessons with ZUS”, students can also take part in the “It Is Worth Knowing More About Social Insurance” knowledge competition, where knowledge and prizes are up for grabs.

The competition consists of three stages: school, regional and national. The student teams that take the first three places in the regional stage will receive material prizes. In the final, national stage, valuable prizes are planned for the winners (laptops, tablets and e-book readers), as well as for teachers and schools.

Detailed information about the project and the knowledge competition, including the regulations, is available at: https://www.zus.pl/LekcjezZus/. In the 2014/2015 school year, six schools from our region took part in the “Lessons with ZUS”: three from Legnica and one each from Głogów, Polkowice and Jawor. So far, nine schools have registered for the new 2015/2016 edition.
