Since Monday, 18 May this year, new road traffic regulations have been in force in Poland. A driver who exceeds the speed limit by 50 km/h in a built-up area will lose the right to drive a vehicle for three months. Road traffic officers have noted that, thanks to the changes and consequently more severe penalties, drivers are slowing down; however, there are still some who behave irresponsibly. In just a month and a half, 22 people had their driving licences revoked.
The regulations affect not only the number of documents revoked! Increased inspections by road traffic officers and numerous social campaigns have influenced drivers in Lubin, resulting in fewer fatal accidents.
The police remind everyone that, due to the holiday period, traffic is heavier on roads throughout Poland. Therefore, officers appeal to all drivers to obey the regulations and exercise caution on the road.
