On 28 March, at around 8:00 p.m., the victim went to a pizzeria with his friends. They all drank beer there.
The victim also played on gaming machines. After some time, he returned to his friends and told them that he had lost all the money he had. At around 11:00 p.m., the aforementioned man left the premises with Rafał Z. and they went to a nearby park.
When they sat down on one of the benches, the victim asked his friend to lend him money. Z. refused. An argument then broke out between the men. Rafał Z. grabbed the victim by his jacket and they began wrestling. During the struggle, the perpetrator grabbed his friend by the neck with both hands. He then pressed his body, particularly his head, against the bench and held him that way for several seconds. The victim did not defend himself. After a moment, the suspect threw the victim to the ground and continued strangling him with his hands, then stepped on his neck with his shoe.
The attacked man died.
Rafał Z. then returned to the pizzeria and… continued drinking beer. At around 1:30 a.m., he returned home. The next day, he washed the clothes he had been wearing at the time of the incident.
Z., questioned as a suspect, confessed to the crime of which he was accused. He had not previously been convicted.
At the request of the District Prosecutor in Jelenia Góra, pre-trial detention was imposed on him.
He could face life imprisonment.
