This production, directed by Beata Zając, will feature 15 scholarship holders of the Ocelot Foundation in Legnica. That is half of the cast. Ocelot alumni currently living in Las Vegas and Warsaw will also perform, along with actors from the Henryk Tomaszewski Wrocław Pantomime Theatre. One of the leading roles will be played by a resident of Legnica, Aleksander Łopusiewicz, who will portray a mischievous sprite named Puck.
The very intensive rehearsals for this production are taking place in the specialist hall of the former Medical Schools Complex.
“For me, taking part in this production is a great distinction,” says Ewa Jankowska from Ocelot. “We prepared by training even six days a week. I really came to enjoy it.”
“Shakespeare’s drama will be told through the language of pantomime, breathtaking acrobatics and aerial dance, while the love affairs of the play’s characters will be seen through the distorting mirror of a contemporary major corporation,” explains Beata Zając. “Instead of gray everyday life, this distinctive lyrical comedy will intertwine sleep and wakefulness, dreams and reality, intrigues and passions.”
The spirits will really fly in the production. And, as Ms. Beata says, the actors will exceed the limits of human capability, defying the laws of gravity.
Script and direction: Beata Zając; running time: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes.
