– The park on Ogrodowa [pisaliśmy o tym również w materiale Park czy wybieg dla psów – przyp. „ii”] is terribly neglected – the Reader, who lives near the site, told us. – The grass has run wild in the flowerbeds, the gravel paths are overgrown, and worst of all, people have made themselves a latrine behind the Borderlands Memorial.
– What is more – the man emphasized – someone threw stones at this monument. The state of this park has irritated me for a long time. And it is not about paving everything over. But the flowerbeds could be reshaped, the gravel paths remade and the weeds growing in the middle removed. There are also too few benches; there is nowhere to sit here.
We visited the site. In our opinion, it is not as bad as the Reader described, nevertheless we asked Grażyna Strzyżewska Grażyna Strzyżewska, deputy head of the Municipal Housing Management Authority, for comment. She wrote to the editorial office by email:
The square is cleaned regularly and the flowerbeds are planted. However, work has been commissioned to trim the yews and thin out the shrubs so that it will not be possible to use this place as a “latrine”.
In our opinion, the number of benches is sufficient. The replacement of the damaged plaque on the Borderlands Memorial will also be commissioned.
