Next school year, the young middle-school students will join the ranks of talented students at II LO. Today, they are celebrating their success and happily talking about their achievement in the final of the 2015 Lower Silesian Middle-School Students’ Science League Competition. The students, who are supervised by teachers, achieved the highest score in the competition: 2,116 out of 2,480 points. This was the highest result among all Lower Silesian schools taking part in the League.

Agata, Julia, Tomislav and Paulina won the Science League Gold Medals, as well as material prizes and the opportunity to attend the League Science Camp. Paulina Owerko and Tomislav Pranić also won an individual award: the title of Humanities League Laureate.

Competition laureates receive material prizes and a certificate signed by the Superintendent of Education, which allows them to apply to any high school and exempts them from the relevant part of the middle-school examination (Polish language).

The middle-school students are an exceptionally well-coordinated group. Their teachers emphasized their teamwork skills and the fact that each of them specializes in a particular area: writing good tests, grammar or poetry interpretation. The students use these skills for the common good. Teresa Hryńczak and Anna Izba are delighted with their students’ progress. They emphasize how much work the students put into their preparation and how consistently they prepared in order to achieve the highest possible place.

The students were pleased with their success for many reasons. They felt satisfaction from a job well done and said that they wanted to test themselves and try their hand at an original competition. They were also very happy to be exempted from the Polish language examination. They considered a sense of humor and distance from themselves to be the foundation of their success. The Istotne.pl editorial team congratulates the MZS No. 1 team and teachers on their success.
