Fire engines: inconspicuous, as if asleep, but ready at any moment to set off in an instant—with roar and rumble—with their firefighters to help those in need.

The photographs show the fire engines of the Bolesławiec unit. The photographs were taken around midnight using the author’s light portrait method. This technique involves taking photographs at night (or in darkened places) so that only selectively illuminated elements are visible in the pictures. An interesting feature is the lack of retouching, yet the photographs still appear unreal.
