From Tuesday to Thursday (24–26 March), the second secondary school is welcoming lower-secondary school students who are considering their choice of school. The tour programme includes visits to the school’s classrooms and laboratories. The following classes will be presented on these days:

  • European class IE (geography, social studies, foreign languages)
  • Mathematics and physics class ID, with chemistry, physics, mathematics and history taught in English
  • Biology and chemistry class IC, humanities class IB with elements of legal education
  • Mathematics and physics class IA with elements of architecture and technical drawing

On the first day, guests from lower-secondary schools were welcomed by the president of the Student Council at II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Janusza Korczaka w Bolesławcu, Korneliusz Rzeźwicki, the author of a promotional video for II LO made together with Michał Bednarski, Maciej Mocny and Damian Widera.

“Next school year, you will begin studying at upper-secondary schools. This will be another stage of your education, but also—and perhaps above all—another very important and unique stage of your lives,” the secondary-school student said in his welcome address. “I hope that you will choose our school, II LO in Bolesławiec, and that we—your friends and classmates—will be able to accompany you as you reach further levels of education and gain new experiences on the path to full maturity and adulthood. A school is not just a building, but above all the people in it. I am certain that the people you meet here are open and kind, and the atmosphere at our school makes me believe that choosing it will prove to be the right decision. In this case, I can confidently say that I am not making empty claims. At every step, our Student Council tries to enrich the lives of our students: Sweet Wednesdays, concerts marking the first day of spring or Valentine’s Day, numerous competitions and contests between classes. Our secondary school has already hosted rock concerts, dance-group performances and even last year’s highly popular FIFA tournament for lower- and upper-secondary school students. If you have not previously had the opportunity to visit Polish and foreign cities or meet young people from abroad, you will certainly do so with us. I have already met peers from Hungary, gone on trips to Dresden and Vienna, and am now preparing for a week-long trip to Bad Marienberg as part of an EU project. Humanities classes can look forward to trips to theatres, cinemas and museums, while students taking extended science subjects will not be bored either. From my own experience, I know that school life can sometimes be difficult; however, I hope that here you will find not only knowledge and new skills, but also friendships that will last for many years. I believe that the time spent at school will bear fruit in the future,” Korneliusz Rzeźwicki said, inviting visitors to learn more about his secondary school.
