The incident occurred on Sunday. Emergency medical service workers were called to a severely weakened four-year-old. The child was losing consciousness—it turned out that he was drunk. His blood contained more than 1.4 per mille of alcohol. The emergency medical service workers notified the police.
The child was reportedly being cared for by his 49-year-old father. However, the man invited a neighbor over, and they drank alcohol together. It is not yet known how the four-year-old became intoxicated. The boy was taken to hospital. His life is no longer in danger.
Police arrested the irresponsible father, a resident of Bolesławiec County. He was charged with exposing the child to the direct danger of loss of life or serious injury and facilitating the consumption of alcohol. He faces up to five years in prison.
