The incident took place on January 31. The duty officer at the Lubin police station received information that someone was trying to break into a flower shop. A police patrol immediately went to the scene. The officers saw a young man who, after breaking the shop window, was inside the store.
The 21-year-old from Polkowice was arrested. The man told the officers that he had broken in not for money, but for... flowers. He explained that he wanted to thank the medical staff at one of the hospitals in this way.
The suspect was taken into police custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
