An illegal warehouse containing smuggled cigarettes was located in Sieniawka (Bogatynia commune). The officers seized 340,000 cigarettes without Polish excise stamps. Had they reached the market, the state treasury could have lost PLN 327,000.
The police also arrested two men, aged 27 and 38. The suspects face up to three years in prison.
Last year alone, officers of the Central Bureau of Police Investigation seized... 6 million illegal cigarettes and 30 tonnes of cut tobacco in Lower Silesia.
