The basic budget, as Mayor Andrzej Grzmielewicz said during the session, ensures the proper functioning of the local government, while the proposed amendment introduces many investment projects important for the city and municipality.

– The budget, together with the amendment, is open to investment and socially oriented – Grzmielewicz said.

The mayor also spoke about measurable savings in public administration. The funds saved will make it possible, among other things, to carry out projects such as:

  • reconstruction and modernisation of the Municipal Hospital in Bogatynia
  • thermal modernisation of the School Complex with Integrated Classes in Bogatynia, which will be the first stage of the comprehensive modernisation of the institution
  • thermal modernisation of residential buildings in Sieniawka
  • reconstruction of the combined sewer network in Porajów
  • reconstruction of Karłowicza, Szymanowskiego and Wieniawskiego streets
  • reconstruction of Dzikiej, Ludowej, Bema, Sienkiewicza, Zwycięstwa, Mieszka I and Chrobrego streets
  • expansion of the “Reservoir” as a place for leisure, recreation, culture and entertainment, together with the construction of an outdoor swimming pool
  • construction of cycle paths Bogatynia–Opolno-Zdrój–Jasna Góra, and in the second stage: Opolno-Zdrój–Porajów
  • construction of an observation deck on “Obserwator” Hill
  • revitalisation of Bogatynia city centre
  • reconstruction of the sports field on Sportowa Street.

Several projects were missing from the budget for the coming year, but, as Mayor Andrzej Grzmielewicz assured, the local government will strive to implement them. These projects include further investment in community centres (Bratków and Wyszków), construction of a health clinic in Porajów and modernisation of the volunteer fire brigade station in Porajów.

It was also important to secure funds in the budget reserve and include a plan for partial road repairs in the budget. These funds will help ensure the safe implementation of tasks and enable an appropriate response in crisis situations.

The budget was adopted unanimously.
