A colorful procession of residents, led by Santa Claus, elves and snowflakes, will set off from the Market Square. It will head to Galeria Piastów, where a Christmas concert awaits everyone. On Saturday, numerous attractions, especially for children, will be organized at Galeria Piastów from 1:00 p.m.
This year, the Market Square is adorned with a ten-metre Christmas tree in a modern style, while crowns have been hung on all the lampposts. Neptune’s fountain has received a luminous decoration. The lampposts on Złotoryjska Street and at Cathedral Square are decorated with Viennese chandeliers. On Najświętszej Marii Panny Street, there are prototypes of lotus flowers designed and made specially for Legnica. The fountain in Powstańców Wielkopolskich Square also carries this symbolism. Nearby, a splendid and dignified lady who has arrived for a visit is already waiting for those out for a walk. She has been named the luminous Grace. This is another new feature this year. After the season, Grace will return to Wilanów.
A huge peacock with a spread luminous tail has been installed in the city centre. Hundreds of Legnica residents walking along Najświętszej Marii Panny Street pass through the interior of a giant “ornament of happiness”. Being inside the ornament is supposed to guarantee health, prosperity and love for the coming year. Residents are very eager to take photos here, capturing their kisses.
Rich Christmas decorations have been installed on the bridges over the Kaczawa, the viaduct, the main roads, the roundabout in Piekary, the most important intersections, as well as the island on Koziego Stawu. For many evenings and nights, Legnica residents will be able to enjoy fairy-tale views.
It is worth recalling that last year’s Christmas illumination in Legnica was voted the most beautiful in Lower Silesia by internet users.
