The District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra has filed an indictment with the local court against 26-year-old resident of Wojcieszyce (Stara Kamienica commune) Marcin G., who is accused of using violence to force Barbara G. to submit to other sexual acts.

The incident took place on September 17, 2014, around noon. The perpetrator attacked a woman who was walking with her child and dog near the Orle housing estate in Jelenia Góra.

The attacker threw himself at his victim. When she fell, he covered her mouth with one hand and began touching her breasts and thighs through her clothes with the other. After a while, he stood up and walked away. The victim immediately notified the police by phone.

Police officers arrested Marcin G. later that same day. The victim identified him. The man pleaded not guilty and refused to give an explanation.

Court-appointed psychiatrists determined that the man was fully criminally responsible. However, both they and a psychologist concluded that there was a high risk he would attack someone again.

The man had previously been convicted of rape. He has been held in pretrial detention since September 17. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
