The opposing candidate to Wacław Szetelnicki was Jan Szynalski (PO), the chair of the Council in the previous term.
“The good of Legnica is my overriding goal, which I will pursue consistently,” Wacław Szetelnicki stressed. “I am counting on cooperation from all councillors and residents. I believe I will not let you down.”
Mayor Tadeusz Krzakowski, congratulating the chair on his election to the position, declared his cooperation with the entire Council: “I think the executive and legislative bodies will find common ground. The residents will benefit from this.”
