Police officers from the station in Nowogrodziec detained a man suspected of triggering a false bomb alarm at one of the hospitals in Wrocław. He turned out to be a 28-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec gmina. The man was drunk when he was detained. He had nearly 3 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system.
The man was caught because he called the police while drunk. However, when the patrol arrived at the scene, the caller denied having summoned the officers. During the intervention, Bolesławiec officers received information from Wrocław police that someone from Nowogrodziec had reported a bomb placed at the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Wrocław.
As it turned out, it was the same number from which the police had allegedly not been called. The Nowogrodziec officers were notified. They found the phone from which the call had been made. It belonged to the 28-year-old.
The man was unable to explain why he had done it. He now faces up to 8 years in prison.
