During the long weekend, officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic police inspected 340 vehicles and issued fines to 123 drivers, mainly for speeding, overtaking on a double solid line or disregarding traffic lights. In addition, officers seized 54 registration certificates due to various technical defects.
During this period, 14 incidents occurred on our roads, the most common causes being failure to adjust speed to the road conditions and rear-end collisions.
On November 7, in Łomnica, on Świerczewskiego Street, an accident occurred. Preliminary findings indicate that a 27-year-old driver of a Honda vehicle struck a 41-year-old pedestrian. The man was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he died. The driver was sober. Police are investigating the causes and circumstances of the accident.
Moreover, officers apprehended six drunk drivers and four wanted individuals.
