The arrest of a 29-year-old resident of Zgorzelec, suspected of committing numerous thefts and burglaries, took place on October 30. Officers determined that the man had been carrying out his activities since November 2009. Among other places, he broke into a shoe store, a newsstand pavilion and a restaurant, from which he stole money and cigarettes, as well as law offices, where his haul included mobile phones, computer equipment and tablets.
The losses caused by the 29-year-old were estimated at nearly PLN 30,000. As he explained to officers, he stole because he needed to have “a few pennies.”
He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
