The incident occurred on October 25 at approximately 9:35 p.m. in Mysłakowice. The man driving a Renault Laguna hit a 16-year-old girl who was walking along the roadside. The perpetrator then fled the scene, abandoning his car.
The teenager suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. On October 27, the 35-year-old man was arrested and placed in police custody.
Jelenia Góra police officers requested that the 35-year-old be placed in pre-trial detention. The prosecutor’s office and the court granted the request. On October 29, the man was remanded in custody for three months.
He now faces up to eight years in prison.
