The training was attended by 50 officers from various divisions who deal with crime related to violence. The new system for counteracting this phenomenon emphasizes the need for specialists from various fields to provide assistance to people affected by domestic violence and to influence its perpetrators.

Most often, the first person a victim turns to for help is a police officer. During the training, female and male police officers learned how they can provide such a person with maximum support using the means available to them.

On 3 November 2014, the Legnica police headquarters is organizing a conference that will continue the police efforts to counteract domestic violence. Participants will include police officers, court presidents, judges, prosecutors, probation officers, social workers, psychologists, educators, employees of the Municipal Office, representatives of the education and healthcare sectors, as well as non-governmental organizations providing assistance to victims of violence. Lectures will be delivered, among others, by the head of the Department for Counteracting Domestic Violence at the Ministry of Justice and the voivodeship coordinator for the implementation of the National Programme for Counteracting Domestic Violence.

The aim of the conference will be to exchange information about the tasks of individual services in the field of counteracting violence and, above all, to develop methods for even more effective cooperation between them.
