At the ceremonial unveiling, the mayor and city councillors were present. Guests were welcomed by Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska, who came up with the idea of installing the bench in the Market Square.
“A ceramic bench could not be missing from the city of ceramics,” said the director of BOK-MCC. “I hope it will serve residents and tourists. I thank Mateusz Grobelny for creating such an interesting structure,” Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska added.
Bolesławiec resident Zbigniew Kazimierski wrote a poem for the bench’s unveiling and read it to the assembled guests. In his speech, Mayor Piotr Roman encouraged local ceramic producers to place objects in the Market Square that reference the city’s ceramic traditions.
The first photos on the Ceramic Bench, with a panorama of Bolesławiec Market Square, were taken with Miss Święto Ceramiki Maja Letko. In the afternoon, the bench’s creator will be waiting for residents by the ceramic bench (4:00–5:00 p.m.); it will also be possible to take photos with him.
