In the elections to the Legnica City Council, the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Assembly and for the Mayor of Legnica, scheduled for November 16, 2014, 10 election committees – Tadeusz Krzakowski’s, the Democratic Left Alliance, the Polish People’s Party, Porozumienie dla Legnicy, Civic Platform RP, Law and Justice, Non-Party Local Government Officials, the National Movement, Janusz Korwin-Mikke’s New Right and Your Movement – submitted a total of 483 candidates for membership of precinct election commissions.

After verification, it was determined that candidates for membership of the precinct election commissions had been submitted for all 49 commissions in numbers exceeding the permitted maximum composition of the commissions (up to 8 people in 47 permanent precincts and up to 6 people in separate precincts). Therefore, in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Code, the composition of the commissions was decided by a public drawing.

The drawing took place on October 20 in room 225 of Legnica City Hall. The Municipal Election Commission supervised the drawing. A total of 388 people were drawn. After the commission memberships were supplemented with a person appointed by the mayor, 437 people will work in them: 9 people each in 47 permanent precincts and 7 people each in 2 separate precincts (the Voivodeship Hospital and the Social Welfare Home on Grabskiego Street).

The Municipal Election Commission appointed the members of 49 precinct election commissions by special resolution. Their names will be available in the Public Information Bulletin, on the City Hall website (www.legnica.eu) and on the notice board.
