During the night of October 23–24, police officers noticed flashlight light near allotment gardens on the outskirts of the city. When they approached, they heard the sound of metal striking metal and someone talking.
It turned out that two men were unscrewing a pipe from a water tank. When they saw the uniformed officers, one of the suspects began to flee. He was arrested after a brief chase.
Both perpetrators are residents of Lubin, aged 60 and 47. The men had a crowbar and an adjustable wrench with them, as well as loot stolen from another allotment hut: electrical wires, extension cords, light bulbs and a water meter.
The case is developing, and it may turn out that the men will also be held responsible for other burglaries that took place in the area recently.
Both Lubin residents may face up to 10 years in prison.
