At the invitation of Deputy District Governor Mariusz Tureńec, Iwona Krawczyk, head of the Kamienna Góra Special Economic Zone for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, presented the zone’s educational cluster at the St. Barbara Vocational School Complex in Bogatynia. Representatives of vocational schools from the district and local entrepreneurs attended the meeting.
The Zone Educational Cluster is Poland’s first programme concerning vocational education based on the investment potential of an economic zone. Its tasks include diagnosing needs, selecting partners and commissioning fields of study—in other words, “matching” vocational schools with entrepreneurs.
The project assumes that students will plan their educational and professional careers—the choice of profession is to be a conscious decision that takes into account both preferences and the possibility of further educational and professional development—as well as develop key competences expected by employers. In the programme, the employer acts as a practitioner who shapes the labour market, implements vocational education content and methods in real working conditions, and offers jobs to trained students.
After the presentation, both the “Emilka” school in Zgorzelec and the “Górnik” school in Bogatynia expressed their willingness to participate in the programme.
