Police officers from Bolesławiec and Nowogrodziec arrested two men suspected of stealing motorway infrastructure. The first detainee is a 21-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec municipality suspected of seven thefts of aluminium strips from anti-glare screens. He committed all the offences in September this year on the A4.
Officers determined that the man had an accomplice in two cases. He turned out to be a 20-year-old resident of Osiecznica municipality who... also stole independently.
Both suspects pleaded guilty. They explained that they had sold the stolen property at a scrap-metal collection point. The older detainee had a previous criminal record. The losses were estimated at over PLN 20,000.
The 21- and 20-year-olds now face up to five years in prison.
