The incident occurred on Friday, September 26, shortly after 6:00 a.m. A resident of the Świerczewskiego estate called the Lubin police duty officer and informed him that, moments earlier, two young men had smashed the window in the entrance door to a stairwell using a chair. The perpetrators fled.

Another resident then informed officers that two men with a chair were sitting at a bus stop. The vandals were arrested (one of them cut his hand). They were taken to police custody, where they are sobering up.

The arrested men are residents of Lubin, aged 20 and 22. They now face a sentence of up to five years in prison.
