The incident took place during the night of September 19–20. Officers from the police station in Chojnów caught two men red-handed as they stole fuel from the tank of a truck. The men—a 52-year-old resident of Legnica and a 45-year-old resident of Chojnów—had already managed to transfer more than 100 litres of diesel fuel, worth approximately PLN 600, into containers.
After their arrest, the suspects offered the officers a bribe in the form of... the stolen fuel.
The 52- and 45-year-olds were placed in police custody. They face up to eight years in prison.
