The aim of the initiative is to support and develop extracurricular environmental education for primary school pupils in Jelenia Góra by fostering their environmental awareness and culture. This will enable them to learn about and predict the outcomes and consequences of processes occurring in the environment. At the same time, the main objective is to ensure safety and protect property.

The initiative will be carried out from September to November this year and is consistent with the Environmental Education Programme for Lower Silesia. Twelve educational institutions joined the programme run by the Jelenia Góra police and Wodnik.

During the training session with pupils, an educational film entitled “The Water Cycle” is shown. The session also covers in detail the circulation of water in nature, as well as preventing and combating crimes against the natural environment.

After the presentation, pupils have the opportunity to visit Wodnik’s facilities: the “Sosnówka” Water Treatment Plant on Wróblewskiego Street and the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant on Lwówecka Street.
