We do not know whom, apart from the sure bet Piotr Roman, the parties and associations will put forward for president. The hypothetical candidates are: Maciej Małkowski (Ziemia Bolesławiecka), Przemysław Moszczyński (the Wasza Rada committee), Bogusław Nowak (independent) and Cezary Przybylski (Civic Platform). I chose them based on their declarations, potential and suggestions that they might or would like to run. Besides, they are interesting, and there is actually something one can write about them.
Maciej Małkowski would certainly like to run, but whether the Association—or rather, its chairman Cołokidzi—will put him forward, nobody knows, as Łazuka sang about Piechniczek’s decisions at the 1982 World Cup. Małkowski was closest to the city authorities. As deputy mayor, he got to know the City Hall inside out. Of all the candidates, he has what we might call technical preparation. This candidate also has many supporters. The charitable work of the Ziemia Bolesławiecka association and Małkowski’s genuine commitment to the affairs of the city and its residents are his greatest strengths. He is a local-government official through and through. He is also recognizable and appealing to voters aged 30 and over.
Przemysław Moszczyński has already declared his candidacy and has already taken flak for it from online haters. He is a community activist with a big heart. A Bolesławiec Don Quixote. Heroic and deserving of respect when one looks kindly at what he is fighting against. A decent man who does everything for a greater cause and for others.
Bogusław Nowak. He has led Gliniada eight times. For eight consecutive years, he managed to gather around him a team that organized Gliniada with him. He is surrounded by people who strongly support and love him. They defend him and would follow him into the fire. The most serious and recognizable opponent of Piotr Roman.
Cezary Przybylski. Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. He has the trust of his party and has risen high, which demonstrates his competence. As marshal, he is a frequent visitor to Bolesławiec. He supports local investments and initiatives. Among other things, he provided financial assistance for the construction of the Community Center in Kraśnik Dolny, supported the Blues nad Bobrem Festival and this year’s Gliniada. He has standing and contacts.
I will not write about Piotr Roman. I will vote for him. I wish the other candidates would pleasantly surprise me.
