Police officers from Szklarska Poręba detained a 21-year-old woman from Jawor County and a 43-year-old man with no fixed place of residence. Both are suspected of a series of burglaries involving cars.
Between 23 and 31 August, the duo broke into and robbed at least seven vehicles left in car parks in Szklarska Poręba. The pair most often took travel bags containing, among other things, mobile phones, laptops, tablets, jewellery and cosmetics. On one occasion, they managed to steal property worth PLN 3,000.
It turned out that the 43-year-old was a repeat offender. He was released from prison on 18 August this year, having served a sentence for, among other things, this type of offence.
The officers recovered property worth approximately PLN 20,000: some of the items were in the 21-year-old's flat in Jawor County, while the rest were in a premises rented by the 43-year-old in Jelenia Góra. What is more, officers found car-lock breaking tools in the vehicle belonging to the two suspects.
Both detainees now face up to 10 years in prison.
