From August 15 to 17, traffic was heavy on the roads of the Jelenia Góra Valley. During this time, there were 20 collisions, most commonly caused by excessive speed or failure to yield. In addition, police officers arrested 6 drunk drivers, issued 239 fines, and one driver who overtook on double solid lines, where overtaking was prohibited, and at a pedestrian crossing, lost his driving licence. The case will be decided by a court.
Furthermore, Jelenia Góra police officers seized the registration certificates of 23 vehicles due to their technical condition. During the “August Weekend” operation, officers intervened nearly 220 times.
