In June, work began on the renovation and redevelopment of the area in front of the main entrance to Municipal School Complex No. 3 on Słowackiego Street. The project includes the reconstruction of the stormwater and wastewater combined sewer system. The existing retaining wall will be renovated. The stairs and the access ramp for people with disabilities to the area below the retaining wall will also be reconstructed.
In front of the main entrance, the surface will be replaced with concrete paving blocks and the sandstone wall will be removed. In the green area on the side facing the sports field, the stairs will be reconstructed, an access ramp for people with disabilities will be built, and a concrete-paving-block walkway will be constructed. Two erratic boulders, pedestals and commemorative plaques will be renovated. The squares and paved areas will also be landscaped. The contractor is Rem-Bud from Tomaszów Bolesławiecki. The city budget allocated PLN 308,450 for this purpose. The work will be completed in the second half of August.
It is worth recalling that an “Orlik” sports complex was built on the school grounds in 2012. The complex created new training opportunities and improved the appearance of the school’s surroundings. It consists of a football pitch, a multi-purpose court intended for basketball and volleyball, and a street basketball court.
The courts have polyurethane surfaces, are fenced and equipped with the necessary sports equipment. The site also includes a high-jump area, a running track, a long-jump pit and a shot-put area. All surfaces are synthetic. The sports grounds also feature benches and ball-stop nets for the street court, table-tennis tables and boules lanes. The complex includes sanitary and changing-room facilities and is illuminated.
