Last weekend, the 20th Final of the National Youth Olympics in Olympic Taekwondo took place in Wrocław. Nearly 180 younger female and male juniors who qualified for the finals through zonal qualifiers competed in technical two-event competitions, poomsae and sparring. In the latter competition, LMKS Gladius Bolesławiec athlete Jakub Owczarek won the bronze medal in the -41 kg category. It is his first medal at the Polish Championships level (the Youth Olympics finals are also the Polish Championships for Younger Juniors). In addition to Jakub, his clubmate Sandra Marcinów also took part in the tournament.
Just one week earlier, taekwondo athletes from Bolesławiec took part in the National Taekwondo Tournament in Opole, where ten LMKS Gladius athletes brought home 20 medals from competitions in technical events and sparring.
