On Thursday, Polish citizenship was granted to people from Belarus, China, Georgia, Cuba, Lebanon, Mali, Nigeria, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. A foreigner who has lived in Poland for at least five years may apply for Polish citizenship. A condition for obtaining Polish citizenship is renouncing one’s previous citizenship. A stateless person or a person of undetermined citizenship who has lived in Poland for at least five years may also be recognized as a Polish citizen.
Since 2001, 379 foreigners have received Polish citizenship in Lower Silesia.
