The premiere of “The Miser,” performed by students of the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec, took place on 4 April at Teatr Stary. The venue was packed. Among the audience were, among others, Mr and Mrs Katarzyna and Dariusz Kwaśniewscy, long-time head of II LO Edmund Maliński, Parent Council chair Kazimiera Kotwica, the current head of the school Mirosław Sakowski, as well as students’ parents, teachers (former and current), staff, graduates and students of the “two.”
Those who, for whatever reason, could not attend the premiere of one of the most famous comedies of all time have something to regret. In an excellent set (the furniture was borrowed from Piwnica Paryska), the drama club from II LO presented a superb adaptation of Molière’s timeless work. For over an hour, the students transported the audience to 17th-century Paris.
Harpagon attracted the most attention (the role was brilliantly played by Piotr Rola), but in truth, many acting talents shone on stage that day. Much of the credit goes to Izabella Daniel, the drama club supervisor, French teacher and director of the performance. The audience gave the creators of the production a standing ovation.
Attention! This excellent performance can still be seen twice on the Teatr Stary stage. And on the same day – 25 April. First, during the Young Entrepreneur competition gala at 3:00 p.m., and then – at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
