The tragedy occurred on Tuesday, April 1, in an apartment on Opitza Street. We remind you: before 3 p.m., police officers from Bolesławiec received a report that two people—a 36-year-old mother and her two-year-old son—had been taken to hospital. The woman had cut wrists and two abdominal wounds, while the toddler had as many as five stab wounds to his abdomen and a wound to his forearm.
The 36-year-old has two children. One of them was at the grandmother’s home, in the neighboring apartment. At one point, the older woman came to her daughter’s apartment and noticed that her daughter and grandson were lying in blood.
A neighbor came to help; she had once worked in an operating ward. Thanks to her composure, the injured people did not bleed to death before the ambulance arrived.
On April 1, we reported that the 36-year-old had probably injured her son herself and tried to cut her own veins. As it turned out, the perpetrator of the tragedy pleaded guilty. She was charged with attempted murder and temporarily remanded in custody for three months. She faces up to life imprisonment.
Moreover, the prosecutor’s office asked the court to deprive the 36-year-old of her parental rights. We will return to the subject.
