The role of Harpagon will be played by Piotr Rola. The entire group, which has been active for two years, decided that he should play the titular miser. It consists primarily of students from class II b, a humanities-focused class, although not exclusively. The young actors have already staged an adaptation of Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol.”

Of course, the text of “The Miser” had to be shortened. That does not mean, however, that in April we will see only fragments of Molière’s comedy. “The performance will certainly last more than an hour,” says Izabella Daniel, the theatre group’s supervisor and a French teacher. “We wanted such a special work to have a worthy setting. Hence the idea that its premiere should take place in our beautiful theatre. The idea was received warmly by Marek Łętowski, director of the Youth Cultural Centre.”

“I hope we will manage to convey the genius of this work while also providing good entertainment for everyone who wishes to come and see the result of our work,” says Izabella Daniel. “We are particularly keen to welcome audiences connected with II LO. We hope that the teaching staff, employees and students will attend. We will eagerly await the parents of our school’s students and retired employees of II LO,” she adds.
