The main advantage of each school in Gmina Bolesławiec is that children feel safe there and are not anonymous. The number of children in classes does not exceed 20. Classes take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Every school has an after-school club where students can stay until as late as 4:00 p.m. During after-school hours, children can take part in interesting arts and sports activities. Under a teacher’s supervision, students can do their homework. We also provide the opportunity to have lunch.
An interesting educational offering
The schools offer an interesting educational program. Since September 1, 2013, children have been taught two foreign languages: German and English. In addition, they can attend a wide range of extracurricular activities that support the development of students’ interests and talents. These include additional computer classes, English lessons, arts activities and sports activities. At the request of parents, the Primary Schools in Kraśnik Dolny and Brzeźnik organize swimming-pool activities in Bolesławiec. Remedial classes are organized for students experiencing learning difficulties, as well as specialist classes when needed.
The schools are equipped with the necessary audiovisual equipment, desktop computers, laptops, interactive whiteboards and other teaching aids, enabling the use of modern computer and information technologies during classes. In 2014, measures were undertaken to equip preschool departments with the equipment and teaching aids necessary to admit younger children in the future.
Qualified staff
The teachers employed at the schools have full qualifications. The lessons conducted at the schools are interesting, and because of the small number of children in classes, the pace of work is adapted to each student’s abilities. During lessons, the teacher has time to individualize the requirements for each child and, in every situation, assist them in solving problems.
As a result, students have opportunities for comprehensive development and, consequently, for achieving success in every field. This is reflected in the results they achieve in the test organized at the end of sixth grade by the District Examination Board in Wrocław.
Last year, the average result achieved by students from the municipality’s schools was at the same level as the result achieved by students attending schools in cities with more than 100,000 residents. At the same time, it was higher than the average result in Bolesławiec County and Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Competitions and certificates
Students from primary schools in Gmina Bolesławiec take part in subject, arts and sports competitions at national, voivodeship and county levels, achieving high placements there (last school year, 71 students living in the municipality, including 19 students from schools in the municipality, received a scholarship from the Mayor of Gmina Bolesławiec).
For their activities during the previous year, some schools were awarded certificates. These were: Primary School in Żeliszów, the “Innow@cyjna e-szkoła” certificate; Primary School in Kruszyn, “Szkoła Wspierająca Uzdolnienia” and “Szkoła Odkrywców Talentów”; Primary School in Brzeźnik, “Szkoła Odkrywców Talentów” and “Bezpieczna Szkoła – Bezpieczny Uczeń”.
School should not be associated only with learning, which is why events are organized at every institution. All residents of the localities can take part in parties, sleigh rides and other events. There are also so-called Open Days, during which the schools’ achievements are presented. They also provide an opportunity to participate in classes. The school buildings are well maintained, colorful and clean. Every school has a gym, a school sports field and a playground.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I know how important and difficult the decision to choose a school for your child is. For my part, I encourage you: take advantage of our offer. I guarantee that you will feel reassured about your child’s education during this most important stage.
You can obtain full information about the educational offering at the schools, to which I once again have the pleasure of inviting you.
