The incident took place on the night of February 15–16 in Łąka (Bolesławiec Municipality). Unknown perpetrators broke into a funeral home. They committed a theft, damaged cemetery crosses, overturned several gravestones and destroyed an altar.
Activities aimed at establishing the perpetrators’ identities and arresting them are underway. They face up to 10 years in prison.
Update
The vandals destroyed eleven gravestones and vandalized the cemetery chapel, breaking the benches. It is also known that they stole, among other things, a painting—a copy of a work by Caravaggio.
