The equipment received recently is a gift from the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The first donations—infusion pumps—arrived in December. This continued over the following weeks, until the final delivery of equipment donated by the Foundation arrived at the department in January. The donated equipment included, among other things: suction machines, useful in cases of pneumonia; feeding pumps; mobile bedside baths; and wheelchairs. Seniors also have access to the latest beds with mattresses, safety features and adjustable height, as well as bedside cabinets.
Anti-bedsore mattresses have a special pump that forces air into the mattress. Thanks to its movements, the mattress massages the body of the person lying on it. Patients greatly appreciate the comfort of the new beds equipped in this way. The bathing chair and lift are comfortable for patients with disabilities and make the nurses’ work in the department easier. The high-quality equipment has made life easier not only for patients, but also for hospital staff, who until now had to move everyone using their own physical strength.
