The incident occurred on New Year’s Eve. A few minutes after midnight, officers received information that a young man had damaged decorative lamps and the entrance door of one of the restaurants located in Bolesławiec’s Market Square. The losses were estimated at PLN 3,000.
A few minutes later, the vandal was detained. The 19-year-old resident of Bolesławiec admitted to the crime. He explained that he had come to the city centre with a friend to celebrate the New Year. However, he was unable to explain why he had damaged the property.
At the time of his detention, the man had a blood alcohol level of 1.2 per mille. He now faces up to five years in prison.
